Lean Greek Turkey Burgers

Lean Greek Turkey Burgers

When we want something a bit different, but we still want a turkey burger, I make these. You need to make sure to let the burgers rest in the refrigerator for at least an hour, and before flipping to sear the first time make sure the burgers are “set”. These can be made with 93% lean ground beef as well. Simply alter the nutritional information (it won’t be that much different).

Ingredients:

20 oz. Lean ground turkey

2 cups fresh chopped spinach

.5 cup finely chopped onion

1/4 c. finely chopped bell peppers (Use red or yellow for color)

1- egg white

1.5 oz crumbled feta cheese

1/4 cup chopped Kalamata olives

Directions:

  1. Wilt spinach in microwave and squeeze out excess water
  2. Combine all ingredients with hands, and form 5 patties
  3. Refrigerate for at least an hour
  4. Pre-heat grill or grill pan until hot enough to sear burgers
  5. Sear on each side for about 2 minutes
  6. Flip burgers over, reduce heat, and continue cooking until desired doneness is achieved
