Holiday Reflections
We are a family of mixed faith. I know we are not alone, but at this time of year, it is of particular importance for my faith. Other times of year, it is particularly important for my husband’s faith. One thing is clear: In our family, prayer is prayer and faith is faith. We don’t care that I am Jewish and my husband is not for the High Holidays. We DO care that we get to temple and pray together, to the same G-d, among a sea of people worldwide, who are also praying to the same G-d.
On Easter Sunday, I accompany my husband to our local church to pray. Again, we are praying to the same G-d, among a sea of people worldwide who are doing the very same thing. It is comforting. While our prayers may differ accordingly, or hearts are in unison. I am not a preacher by any means, but I am a believer in the powers of faith, respect for mankind, kindness and love.
