What’s Holding You Back?

What’s Holding You Back?

Holding you back

Most adults know that eating right and getting regular exercise are one of the keys to aging gracefully and strongly. It has been proven that taking care of ourselves leads to less doctor’s visits, less medication being taken, and an overall feeling of knowing that we are doing the best we can do for ourselves ( http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/high-blood-cholesterol/in-depth/reduce-cholesterol/art-20045935).

So, we ask you this: “What’s holding you back?” Over the next several weeks, we will examine some of the most common reasons (ok….they are excuses) why people choose not to exercise and eat well balanced diets.

Today, we will start with a reason that cannot be disputed:  medical issues. We are not doctors, and we would never advise a client to exercise, or eat a certain way against their doctors’ orders.  That being said, there are many medical conditions that improve with regular exercise and better eating habits. Here are some of them:

1. High cholesterol

2. High blood pressure

3. Osteoporosis

4. Obesity

5. Knee/joint pain

6. Diabetes

7. Arthritis

8. Circulatory problems

9. Depression

10. Low libido

Remember that in a lot of cases, prevention is the best cure. While you may not have any of these medical conditions now, you may in the future if you don’t run some sort of personal intervention now.

Think about this until the next post. Are there things you can do today that will positively impact all of your tomorrows?
