What To Do When You Hate To Workout

Grocery Store Aisle Pic

I have some interesting experiences with my non-working retired clients, in regards to exercise. When I ask them what they like to do physically, they answer me with “nothing”. When I asked them what they do during the day, they told me that they shop. When I ask for what, the answer varies. Some shop for groceries, some shop for clothing, and some go to the local flea markets just to see what’s new. Some even go to the local casinos.

A thought occurred to me. Why not turn those shopping and casino times into workout times as well? I challenge them, and I challenge you with this:

The next time you go grocery shopping, you have a job to do. You must walk up and down every aisle before stopping or picking up anything. That means anything. The next time you go to a mall or a flea market, walk down every aisle before stopping or picking up anything. The next time you go to a (fill in the blank), walk (fill in the blank) before stopping or picking up anything. Get the picture? Working out and moving does not have to occur in a gym, a beach, or a sidewalk. Turn what you do every day into a workout. It is easy, and when you leave that store or location, you will feel a real sense of accomplishment.
